It’s time for a product review!

Why hello there Dolls!  It seems to me like it’s time for another product review.  Now I know, it’s been a while, please forgive me.  Ya’ll know that whenever you don’t hear from me it almost always school so I apology for being MIA for a while.  Lately I’ve been wanting to do a roller set.  I’ve done roller sets in the past and have had great results!  However the thing about roller sets is that they’re incredibly time consuming.  If you want your curls to come out just right, you have to sit under a dryer for 2-3 hours to make sure your hair is completely dry…AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT!  apparently I did today though.  So I decided to bite the bullet and attempt a roller set this afternoon on freshly washed hair.  I had just taken my hair out of it’s protective style (box braids) and wanted to rock my curls in the most well defined way possible.  When taking on a roller set, every naturalista knows that having the perfect setting lotion or curling custard is key!  So I set out to find this “perfect setting lotion” by heading to Target.  I had in mind to purchase Ms. Jessie’s curly meringue because based on past experiences I remembered her products working wonders on my hair.  However I didn’t have Miss jessies money, so I opted out and tried Carol’s Daughter Hair Milk Styling Foam instead paired with Carols Daughter Black Vanilla oil for some heat protecting plus extra shine, and boy am I glad I did.

After washing and conditioning my hair I applied both products to each section of hair and used medium sized rollers to set the back of my hair and smaller perm rods to set the front.  I used two different types of rollers only because I ran out of the medium sized rollers lol.  I forgot to take a picture of my hair after I had each curler in place.  Girl I was just ready to get under that dryer and out of my hair.  Two hours and countless sweat beads later…

SUCCESS!  Don’t you love when you try out a new product and you get the results that you wanted?  My curls were soft, defined, and full of shine.  Everything came together perfectly.  Oh yeah, I forgot to mention earlier that before applying Carol’s Daughter styling foam and black vanilla oil, I first applied Giovanni’s Deep Moisture conditioner as a leave- in.  So I give the green light to both of these products!!!  Now if I could only maintain this look for 3 more days, hmmm.  We shall see Dolls, we shall see.  I’ll keep you posted.  Have a blessed and fabulous day everyone!
