It’s me Jazz also known all over the World Wide Web as MsJStyles. I am licensed cosmetologist residing in Florida and I have been styling hair for over 15 years. Like most stylists, I started while I was in high school styling mostly family & friends. I had every intention of going straight to cosmetology school following high school, but my path was redirected and I was encouraged to go to college first. In 2006, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations. Five years later I’m licensed to style and loving every minute of it!
Most of my clientele are 100% natural as am I. I love to educate my clients on the ways in which to style and maintain their hair. As naturals, we all know that daily maintenance can be quite a daunting task. We’re all obsessed with defining curls, maintaining styles and retaining length. Well, I’m here to dispel rumors and expound on truths by giving you the scientific breakdown of hair and it’s properties as it relates to your questions. My greatest goal is to become a licensed trichologist—a practice not well known in these great United States, but I always aspire to be different and to think outside of the box.
I’m super excited to join Sherica and Taneica as a Doll! I’ve been looking for an outlet to quench my writing thirst and jumped at the opportunity to join the Shatterproof team. I am here for you. I meet so many naturals who have so many questions and no wherewithal to find the answers. These are the things I live for. Each week I will answer questions from you, the readers, about your hair care woes, concerns, issues, etc. I’m a self-proclaimed certified hair geek with a heart to help. I want nothing more than a world full of afro empowered women. Here’s to a great working relationship and hair help all over the world. Dolls, if you’re with it, SHAKE YOUR AFRO’S!!!!
