2. What was your family’s reaction to you going natural?
Words from my grandmothers mouth “Racquel whe mek yuh cut off yuh long pretty hair.” Apart from that comment she loves it and I do too along with the rest of my family members.
3. What is one hair product that you cannot do without?
I can NOT live without Treseme shampoo. I love the scent it leaves in my hair and how soft my hair feels after a good washing.
4. Do you have any hair wisdom you’d like to share with other natural beauties?
Treat your hair just the same as you will treat your skin and especially your face. Clean it, hydrate it and take vitamins. For locks, avoid twisting as often.
5. What is your original hair regimen?
I love to use natural oil in my hair such as coconut oil, almond oil. I also love to extract aloe juice from the aloe plant and I spray my hair with it
every now and then.
6. What made you decide to go natural?
After perming, treating and spending money for me to cry over my hair falling out, that was where I snapped. I had to find a better, more safe and natural way to have long, healthy and vibrant hair… and I’m happy when I made my big chop til this day. I am looking forward to my growth.
7. Who do you look up to for hair inspiration if anyone?
I’m 24 and live in Florida. However I dream of moving to a city thats big enough for me and my in your face personality! I love all things hip hop and artsy as well as enjoying a good urban novel every now and then. I am currently attending college and look forward to graduating at the end of this year. I will be starting school again at a four-year university next spring (Go Bulls wink wink). I want to be an OBGYN when I graduate and have no plans of slowing down any time soon. I hope to inspire our readers and get them excited about looking awesome.
